Morbi Ceramic Cluster (Lalpar, Bela, Ravapar)

Ceramic tiles, Vitrified tiles, Sanitaryware
1/2

The dense private ceramic belt around Lalpar, Bela and Ravapar packs hundreds of tile, vitrified tile and sanitaryware units running roller kilns and spray dryers almost non-stop. The killer combination here is radiant kiln heat plus ceramic powder and silica dust over the press and glaze lines, so these units need high-capacity exhaust to clear the hot, dusty air near the kiln, with HVLS fans over the packing, sorting and loading floors where the workers stand.

Which Aruth product solves which Morbi problem

The short answer for Morbi: industrial and FRP exhaust fans to physically clear the kiln heat and silica dust, HVLS fans to de-stratify the trapped hot air and cool the packing and sorting floors, and air coolers for spot relief on the hottest lines. Most Morbi tile units we fit end up using all three, because the loads stack on top of each other in the same shed.

The deciding factor is what is in the air at each point. Near the roller kiln and the spray dryer the problem is heat you must remove from the building, that is exhaust, and where glaze chemicals and humid spray-dryer air attack ordinary steel, that means FRP corrosion-proof exhaust fans up to about 44,000 CFM. Over the press and glaze lines the problem is ceramic powder and silica dust, again exhaust, to pull the dust out before the men breathe it. And across the big open packing, sorting, polishing and loading floors the problem is hot, still air, that is HVLS: one 7.3 m gearless fan washes up to about 20,000 sq.ft with a steady 1-2 m/s breeze on under 1.7 kW, replacing 15-20 wall fans that cool far less.

Roller kilns & spray dryers (extreme radiant heat): high-capacity industrial exhaust to clear the hot air load near the kiln line, with HVLS away from the kiln for the workers
Press, glaze & body-prep lines (ceramic powder + silica dust): exhaust to pull dust out of the breathing zone, FRP bodies where glaze chemistry and humid air corrode steel
Packing, sorting, polishing & loading floors (hot, still air): HVLS de-stratification fans, 2.4 m to 7.3 m, up to 30% lower bills than banks of conventional fans
Sanitaryware casting & drying halls (heat + humidity): exhaust to evacuate humid air, plus HVLS for comfort over the work area
Spot relief for people (QC tables, loading bays, sorting lines): industrial and portable air coolers and mist / man-cooler fans

Why HVLS de-stratification is the right fix for Morbi sheds

HVLS de-stratification matters in Morbi because the hottest air in a tile shed is trapped dead-still under the roof, right above the kilns that keep feeding it. Our HVLS fans run on IE5 gearless PMSM motors and turn slowly across a huge diameter, so they break up that trapped heat layer and push a gentle, steady breeze down to floor level where the men work, instead of just stirring hot air at head height the way a row of wall fans does.

The number that moves Morbi owners is the power bill. A single 7.3 m gearless fan covers up to about 20,000 sq.ft on roughly 1.5-1.7 kW, replacing 15-20 conventional wall or pedestal fans that together draw far more and cool far less, which works out to up to 30% lower fan-related power across our installs. Gearless also means almost no maintenance, there is no gearbox to leak oil onto your tiles or seize up in dusty Morbi air, and every fan carries our 2-year warranty. During the free survey we run the actual numbers for your shed, floor area, truss height, headcount, current fan count and tariff, and show you the kW saved and the payback in months before you commit to anything.

Why Morbi factories choose Aruth, manufacturer not dealer

Morbi factories choose us because we are the manufacturer, not a dealer passing a brochure across the table. We build the fans at our own workshop at GF-001 Mauryansh Elanza, Shyamal Cross Rd, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015, which means short lead times, spares on the shelf, and our own engineers handling the survey, the layout, the install and the after-sales service. For a Morbi ceramic unit that matters, because kiln-line exhaust and silica-dust control are not off-the-shelf jobs, they need sizing to your kiln count and shed.

We have completed 230+ installations and we already understand the typical roof heights, kiln loads and dust conditions of Morbi tile sheds before we arrive. Morbi sits about 60 km from Rajkot and a comfortable drive from our Ahmedabad base, so the Lalpar, Bela, Ravapar and Shapar-Veraval belts are well within our service reach for both installation and ongoing service visits, bearings, blade balancing and AMC.

Free site survey and installation all over India

Every Morbi job starts with a free on-site survey, and the survey is genuinely free with no obligation to buy. An Aruth engineer comes to your factory, measures the floor area and truss height, checks your kiln and spray-dryer heat load, your dust situation and the openings you already have, and then gives you an honest recommendation, fans, exhaust, evaporative cooling, or the mix most Morbi sheds actually need, plus a written quote.

We supply and install all over India, so beyond Morbi and the wider Gujarat ceramic and engineering belts we serve factories nationwide. The point of the free survey is that you get a measured airflow calculation and a real layout from an experienced ventilation engineer, not a template quote, before you spend a rupee. Call +91 88665 44445 to book it.

Case study: a Lalpar vitrified tile unit clearing kiln heat and dust

  1. Before — the problem

A vitrified tile unit in the Lalpar belt near Morbi called us in peak summer. Across an 18,000 sq.ft shed with a roller kiln and a spray dryer running, the floor was sitting around 46-48°C by afternoon, with a visible haze of ceramic powder over the press and the sorting tables. They had 20-odd wall fans going flat out, which only pushed hot, dusty air around at head height and did nothing for the men 30 feet from the wall. Two workers on the sorting line had been moved off the floor in the heat.

  2. What Aruth installed

We surveyed the shed and split the problem. For the kiln line and press we sized industrial exhaust to physically pull the hot, dusty air out of the building, clearing the breathing zone over the press and glaze area. For the open packing, sorting and loading floor we replaced the 20 wall fans with three 6.1 m gearless HVLS fans laid out to wash the whole floor with a steady 1.5-2 m/s breeze at operator height, breaking up the trapped heat layer under the roof.

  3. The result

The result: floor-level temperature dropped a felt 4-5°C, the ceramic haze over the sorting tables thinned out noticeably, and the noise came right down. On their running hours the owner is looking at payback inside roughly two years on fan power alone, before counting the steadier shifts and fewer men leaving the floor. The three HVLS fans are covered by our 2-year warranty and serviced by our own team.
