Vapi sits at the heart of one of Asia's largest chemical clusters, and that one fact decides everything about ventilation here. We have stood inside dye and pigment units off the Vapi GIDC main road where acid fumes hang visibly in the air, and inside pharma intermediate plants in Sarigam where solvent vapour and reactor heat build up together. Case study: a Vapi GIDC dye unit clears acid fumes and cuts shed heat

  1. Before — the problem

    A dye and pigment unit in Vapi GIDC came to us with two problems stacked on top of each other: their galvanised exhaust fans had corroded through inside a year because of the acid fumes and humid coastal air, leaving the floor full of vapour, and the same 18,000 sq.ft shed was running 5-6 degrees above the outside temperature through the summer, with the humidity making the packing line miserable.

  2. What Aruth installed

    We did a free on-site survey, measured a roof height of about 8 m, mapped where the fumes were collecting near the reaction and filtration area, and worked out the CFM the shed actually needed. Our recommendation was a combination: four FRP corrosion-proof exhaust fans, sized at roughly 40,000-plus CFM total, on the process-side wall to pull the acid fumes and solvent vapour out of the breathing zone, plus two 7.3 m IE5 gearless HVLS fans over the open packing and inspection floor, and two portable coolers for the QC tables.

  3. The result

    After installation the fume haze cleared, the floor met the unit's air-quality and safety expectations, and because the HVLS fans replaced roughly 16 pedestal fans the fan-related power dropped sharply against their old setup. The FRP bodies do not corrode, so instead of being a yearly replacement they are covered by our 2-year warranty. We handled survey, fabrication and installation as one team from our Ahmedabad workshop.
