HVLS, Exhaust & Cooling, across Cheyyar / Tindivanam
HVLS & Exhaust Fans in Cheyyar / Tindivanam: Ventilation for SIPCOT Footwear, Garment & Auto Sheds
We supply and install HVLS exhaust fans Cheyyar SIPCOT factories rely on for worker comfort and clean air, from the big new footwear and garment export sheds to the auto-component and general manufacturing units coming up around Tindivanam. We are Aruth Ventilation Systems, an Ahmedabad manufacturer of gearless IE5 PMSM HVLS fans, industrial and FRP exhaust fans, and air coolers, with 230+ installations behind us and a 2-year warranty on every fan. Cheyyar and Tindivanam are hot and humid, so we lead with HVLS air movement plus exhaust extraction and use coolers only for spot relief. We are honest that we are based in Ahmedabad, but we install all over Tamil Nadu through our own team, starting with a free on-site survey. For a quote, call +91 88665 44445.
Cheyyar and Tindivanam are turning into one of Tamil Nadu's emerging manufacturing nodes, and the SIPCOT industrial park here is at the centre of it. Large footwear and leather export units, garment factories, auto-component shops and general manufacturing are putting up wide new sheds, and almost every one of them faces the same first question on the floor: how do we keep workers comfortable and the air clean through a long, sticky Tamil Nadu summer. We have spent years on south Indian factory floors, and the answer is never one product. It is the right product for that exact heat, fume and humidity load.
The climate here makes it harder than people expect. This part of northern Tamil Nadu, between Vellore and the coast, is hot and humid for most of the year, not dry. That single fact changes the whole approach. Evaporative air coolers, which work so well in dry north India, are far less effective in this damp air because the moisture they add has nowhere to evaporate to. So in Cheyyar and Tindivanam we lead with HVLS fans to move air and de-stratify the shed, plus exhaust to pull heat and fumes out, and we keep coolers for limited spot use in assembly halls where they actually help.
The work going on in these sheds adds its own load. Footwear and leather finishing means adhesive, solvent and primer fumes that have to be pulled off the worker's breathing zone. Where there is leather tanning, dyeing or any chemical step, ordinary mild-steel fans rust out fast, so we use FRP corrosion-proof exhaust there. Garment sheds are packed with operators and machines that throw off heat and fibre, and auto-component shops add weld and grinding fume. A new export shed and an older general-manufacturing unit end up needing the same three things in different proportions: airflow, extraction and a little targeted cooling.
This page explains how we approach ventilation for the SIPCOT estate at Cheyyar and the wider Tindivanam belt, why these factories need it, and which Aruth system fits each kind of shed. We are based in Ahmedabad, but Tamil Nadu is a state we install in regularly, and the first step is always the same: a free on-site survey, an airflow calculation and a written quote, with no obligation.

Cheyyar SIPCOT Industrial Park
SIPCOT: footwear, leather, garments, auto componentsCheyyar SIPCOT is the anchor estate of this node, an emerging hub where large footwear and leather export units, garment factories and auto-component shops are building wide new sheds. The humid climate and the adhesive and finishing fumes from footwear lines mean these sheds need HVLS airflow over the floor plus exhaust extraction at the source, with FRP corrosion-proof exhaust wherever leather tanning, dyeing or chemicals are involved, and coolers only for spot relief in the assembly halls.
Why Cheyyar and Tindivanam factories need a proper ventilation mix
Cheyyar and Tindivanam factories need a real ventilation plan because the work here combines steady heat, sticky humidity and process fumes all in one shed. The SIPCOT node is built around footwear and leather export, garments, auto components and general manufacturing, and each of those throws off a different load. Footwear and leather finishing releases adhesive, solvent and primer fumes. Garment floors are crowded with operators and machines that radiate heat and shed fibre. Auto-component shops add weld smoke and grinding dust. On top of all of it sits the local climate.
The climate is the part people underestimate. Northern Tamil Nadu around Cheyyar is hot and humid for most of the year, and in a tall steel-roof export shed that heat rises and stratifies, a hot stale layer trapped near the roof while the floor stays poorly mixed and damp. Workers feel worse than the thermometer reads because still, humid air does not carry sweat away. A row of wall or pedestal fans barely touches the centre of a wide shed.
So a Cheyyar or Tindivanam unit usually needs HVLS fans to move air and de-stratify the big open floor, exhaust to pull heat and fumes out at the source, and coolers only as targeted spot relief in the drier assembly areas. Get the match right and you cool the floor, clear the adhesive and weld fumes, keep the line working through the back half of the shift, and stop wasting power on dozens of small fans that hardly move the air.
HVLS fans for footwear, garment and warehouse sheds
For the large export sheds at Cheyyar SIPCOT, HVLS (High-Volume, Low-Speed) fans are the right tool because they move enormous volumes of air at a gentle, low-velocity breeze and de-stratify the shed, mixing the trapped hot, humid layer near the roof back down and circulating the whole floor evenly. A single large HVLS fan creates a slow column of air that spreads right across the floor, instead of the narrow blast you get from pedestal or wall fans that only helps the few people standing in front of them.
That gentle, even airflow matters most in humid air. The breeze across the skin is what lets sweat evaporate and makes the floor feel 2 to 4 degrees cooler, which is exactly what a packed garment line or a footwear assembly hall in Tamil Nadu needs through the afternoon shift. There is no hard draught to disturb light fabric, cut parts, paperwork or finishing work, so the fans suit delicate operations as well as heavy ones.
We make five sizes, 2.4 m, 3.6 m, 4.9 m, 6.1 m and 7.3 m, drawing roughly 0.4 to 1.7 kW each on IE5 gearless PMSM motors. One 7.3 m fan covers up to around 20,000 sq.ft of open floor, so a big new SIPCOT footwear or garment shed often needs only a handful of fans where it would otherwise run dozens of pedestal fans. Fewer fans, far less power, and a clear floor for the line.
Exhaust and FRP corrosion-proof extraction for fumes and chemicals
For the footwear, leather and chemical steps at Cheyyar SIPCOT, you need correctly sized exhaust, and in fume and humidity-heavy areas FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) corrosion-proof exhaust rather than ordinary steel. Footwear lasting and finishing throws off adhesive, primer and solvent vapour that has to be pulled off the worker's breathing zone. Where there is leather tanning, dyeing, bleaching or any chemical process, the air carries moisture and chemicals that eat mild-steel fans fast.
Exhaust does two jobs at once on these floors. First, it pulls hot, humid air out of the shed so the HVLS fans are circulating cooler air rather than a stale build-up. Second, it clears the fume and vapour so operators are not breathing adhesive solvent or chemical mist all shift. Sizing matters: we calculate the air-change rate your process needs and position wall and roof exhaust to sweep air across the floor and extract near the source, not just churn one corner. For tanning, dyeing, bleaching and any chemical or washdown-humidity area, FRP construction means the fans do not corrode and fail within a year or two the way mild steel does in this climate.
Our heavy-duty and FRP exhaust fans go up to around 44,000 CFM per unit, so even a large footwear finishing line or a chemical process hall can be covered with a manageable bank of fans. We design inlet and outlet positions so fresh air enters where people are working and the hot, fume-laden air is pulled out near where it is generated.
Air coolers for limited spot relief in assembly halls
For specific stations in the drier assembly halls, industrial and portable air coolers and mist (man-cooler) fans give targeted relief, but in Cheyyar and Tindivanam we use them sparingly. This belt is humid, and evaporative coolers work by adding moisture to the air, so in an already-damp shed they help far less than they would in dry north India and can make a humid hall feel worse. We are honest about that rather than overselling coolers here.
Where they do earn their place is a drier assembly or packing area, a loading bay, or an open station away from any washdown or chemical step, used as spot relief for the few people working in a hot corner. We cool the big shed with HVLS and clear the process areas with exhaust first, then drop a cooler in only where overhead airflow alone is not enough and the air at that spot is dry enough for evaporation to work.
Because they are portable, coolers and man-cooler fans also cover seasonal and shift-by-shift needs, roll them to wherever the crew is working hardest that week, whether that is a finishing station in peak summer or a dispatch line during an export run. They are the finishing touch, never the main cooling system in this climate.
Why Aruth, and how our free survey and Tamil Nadu install work
We are a manufacturer, not a reseller, which is the main reason factories choose us. We build our HVLS fans, industrial and FRP exhaust fans and coolers at our workshop at GF-001 Mauryansh Elanza, Shyamal Cross Rd, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015, so our own engineers handle the survey, the install and the after-sales, and spares come from us rather than a third party. With 230-plus installations and a 2-year warranty on every fan, you are dealing with the people who actually made the product.
We are honest about how we serve Cheyyar and Tindivanam. We are based in Ahmedabad, so this is not a same-city workshop and we will not pretend a SIPCOT unit gets a fan in an hour. What we do offer is a free on-site survey anywhere in the Cheyyar and Tindivanam belt, our team travels to Tamil Nadu, measures your sheds, and gives you a layout and a quote that fit your floor. We then supply, install and service the job ourselves.
Because we manufacture in-house, lead times stay short even at distance, and corrosion-proof FRP impellers and custom exhaust banks are made to your spec for footwear, leather and chemical lines rather than pulled off a generic shelf. Whether you run a footwear export shed, a garment unit or an auto-component shop in Cheyyar SIPCOT, the free survey is the fastest way to a number you can trust.
From the field
Verified installCase study: a Cheyyar SIPCOT footwear export shed, cooler floor and cleaner finishing line
Before — the problem
A footwear export manufacturer at Cheyyar SIPCOT came to us with two problems under one new roof. Their main lasting and assembly shed, around 28,000 sq.ft under a tall steel roof, ran hot and stuffy through the afternoon shift: a stale, humid layer of air sat near the roof, the floor stayed poorly mixed, and the line of pedestal fans did almost nothing for the operators packed in the centre. Their finishing line had a different complaint, adhesive and solvent fumes hanging in the breathing zone where shoes were being glued and primed.
What Aruth installed
We ran a free site survey, our engineers travelled to Tamil Nadu and measured both areas. Over the assembly shed we installed five 6.1 m and 7.3 m HVLS fans, positioned so their air columns overlapped and de-stratified the whole floor, mixing the trapped hot, humid roof layer back down and giving even, gentle circulation across the line. We pulled out the pedestal fans entirely, which cleared the floor and cut fan-running power sharply, since the PMSM HVLS units together draw a fraction of what the old fan bank did.
On the finishing line we installed a bank of FRP corrosion-proof wall and roof exhaust fans, sized to the air-change rate the adhesive and solvent load demanded and positioned to pull the fumes off the operator breathing zone before they spread. We chose FRP rather than mild steel because the humid, solvent-laden air would have rusted ordinary fans within a year or two. The fumes cleared, the line stopped working in a haze, and the shed air felt fresher because the exhaust was pulling humid air out while the HVLS fans circulated the rest.
The result
The plant manager's two headline wins: an assembly floor that stays comfortable right through the afternoon shift, with the line holding its pace, and a finishing line where the air is finally clean to breathe. With the IE5 PMSM HVLS fans cutting fan power by up to 30% versus the old setup, the lower running cost is steadily paying back the changeover, and everything is backed by our 2-year warranty.
