Before — the problem
A steel and ferro-alloy unit in the Tadali MIDC near Chandrapur called us in peak summer. Across roughly a 16,000 sq.ft furnace and finishing shed, the floor was running 46 to 47C by afternoon, with furnace heat and fume hanging over the operators and a row of tired wall fans simply pushing hot, dusty air around. Two men had been pulled off the furnace line in the heat and the manager wanted a fix before the worst of May.
What Aruth installed
We travelled in, surveyed the shed and split the problem in two. Over the furnace and finishing bay we sized high-capacity industrial exhaust to physically pull the hot, fume-laden air out of the building. Over the packing and dispatch floor, away from the furnace line where the workers stand, we laid out two 6.1 m gearless HVLS fans to wash the area with a steady 1.5 to 2 m/s breeze. The connected load of the new fans came in well under what the old wall fans had been drawing.
The result
The result: the furnace bay cleared far faster with the exhaust running, packing-floor temperature dropped a felt 4 to 5C, and the air over the operators was noticeably cleaner. On their running hours the owner is looking at payback inside roughly two years on fan power alone, before counting the steadier shifts.
